Inventory Update Oct 2014

As always, we have been getting in some great new products. And as mentioned last week, we are now PRS (Paul Reed Smith) dealers, and have received our first two guitars. So here are my reviews on those guitars, as well as some other great new products we have received. I hope you enjoy!

PRS SE Custom 24
This is PRS Korean version of Paul Smith's original Custom 24. This is a carved top, doubt cut, electric, with a flamed maple top on a mahogany body, a rosewood fingerboard, and 24 frets. It has two humbuckers (an SE HSF Treble, and an SE Vintage Bass), which can be coil tapped with a push/pull tone knob. This all goes into making it very versatile, and great sounding. The guitar has a wide thin neck profile, this makes it very comfortable to play, and much faster. As with most PRS guitars, this guitar also has PRS's signature bird inlay position markers, PRS designed machine heads, and tremolo. To top it all off, you get a nice PRS gig bag along with it, and as an introductory offer we will offer a package worth 25% of the combined value, when you purchase a PRS electric and an Amplifier together.

PRS SE Angelus Standard Acoustic
This is Paul Reed Smith's Solid Spruce topped acoustic electric, with a solid mahogany back, and laminate Mahogany sides. The Spruce and Mahogany wood combination is the most common in the industry due to it's balanced tone, versatility, and relatively low cost. As with all PRS acoustics, this is a Grand Auditorium sized guitar, which is a great size for it's balanced tone, and comfort. So when combined with the Mahogany and spruce, this guitar produces a well rounded midrange, full bass response, and a crisp cutting high end. The pick-up system installed has many convenient controls and has a tuner built in for tuning on the fly. As with all PRS acoustics, this guitar comes with a custom PRS SE hardshell case, and includes a humidifier from planet waves.

Sigma Acoustics
As we've been selling off our remaining Aria acoustics, we've been receiving lots of new guitars to replace them. The most relevant replacements are the Sigma guitars, since they are in the same style of build, sound, and look. The two most recent models are the 000M-15, and the 000M-1ST.
The 000M-1ST is a solid spruce top guitar, with mahogany back and sides, a high gloss finish, and a great, small 000 body size. As mentioned with the PRS above, the mahogany and spruce combination gives a great balanced tone, and exceptional value for the money. The smaller body makes it extremely comfortable to sit with, and focuses the tone towards the midrange, and away from the bass, making it awesome for fingerstyle playing.

The 000M-15 is a very similar guitar, but with a few major differences. The first is the solid Mahogany top, which like the smaller body size, focuses the sound towards the midrange. It also is equipped with Grover machine heads, for great tuning stability, and accurate, fast tuning. Lastly it is in a satin finish, which I think looks great, and which makes it less prone to wear, scratching, and fingerprints.

Samson Expedition Escape
This is Samson's newest, and smallest battery powered PA speaker. With the same 20 hour rechargeable lithium ion battery as the XP106 I use personally, it is extremely versatile, portable, and useful. It is simpler than the XP106, with only two channels (one dedicated to music players, or bluetooth, and one for a mic or  instrument), but it does have some awesome features all its own. For example, there is a 5V USB power outlet for charging your phone or MP3 player, so you aren't left without any power for your musical device while on your camping trip. It also has a battery level indicator, so you can see at a glance, roughly how much power you have left. There are very few technologies that I feel are as useful for musicians and music lovers as these Expedition PA systems.

Vox Soundbox Mini
This is Vox's newest product designed for portable music performing and listening. It is a two speaker stereo audio player, with stereo inputs for the main channel, and a separate mic channel that can utilize the same digital effects. There are 11 settings on the main channel for bass, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, and keyboard. There are 8 digital effects that can be applied to either channel, which include two delays, two reverbs, a compressor, chorus, flanger, and tremolo. You get a 1/8" inch headphone output, an AUX input, and a center cancel button, which lowers the volume of vocals and lead parts in a piece of music, so that you can play along with tracks on your music player. Like the Samson Expedition Escape above, this can be used for busking, or listening to/playing music when camping, etc. However, this is run off 6 AA batteries, and will only run for up to 7 hours on a single set of batteries. This makes it much less useful for these situations, but the effects, stereo inputs, pre-amps, and so forth, makes it exceptionally useful for a variety of performance and practice purposes. Come check it out, or visit for more information.

Schecter C-6 Satin White
This is one of Schecters newer models, with a very simple design. It has two Schecter humbucker pick-ups, a 3-way switch, and a volume and tone control. It's voiced towards a more aggressive high gain tone, but can pull off some great clean tones as well. The satin white finish looks stunning and will help it to keep on looking great for a long time to come. As with all Schecters, it's nice to play, great looking, and very well priced. Coming in under $400.00, this guitar is easily one of my top 5 favourite electric guitars in this price range.
